SIMPLIFIED 3-D RIDGE AUGMENTATION

Ridge augmentation is commonly performed dental procedures to prepare patients for dental implants. However, reconstructing severely absorbed alveolar ridges presents challenges in implantation procedures. Traditional surgical techniques, such as guided bone regeneration (GBR) with non-resorbable membranes or titanium mesh, block grafting, distraction osteogenesis,interpositional bone grafting, and ramus split bone techniques, have drawbacks,
including technical complexity, prolonged surgery time, multiple surgeries, and delayed edentulous healing. This presentation introduces an innovative and patient-oriented 3-dimensional ridge augmentation technique.
The method utilizes vertical tenting pole abutments and bone builders to overcome the drawbacks associated with traditional ridge augmentation procedures.

SINUSITIS-FREE SINUS AUGMENTATION

Sinus augmentation, utilizing various bone substitutes, has long been considered a reliable method for reconstructing the pneumatized sinus cavity.
However, the use of bone grafts, as foreign materials, poses potential complications, including postoperative infection, suboptimal bone regeneration, and overall failure in the augmented sinus. Postoperative infections can be prolonged, causing significant discomfort for the patient until resolution. Recent clinical and animal studies have demonstrated new bone formation in the sinus without the need for bone grafts, boasting a 0% postoperative infection rate.
Sinus augmentation without bone grafts offers several advantages:
1) achieving 100% vital bone formation,
2) eliminating the risk of cross-contamination from animal or human-origin bones,
3) preventing postoperative infections, and 4) achieving rapid new bone induction.
This presentation will showcase the technique of sinus augmentation without bone grafts, employing both the lateral window technique and the crestal approach known as hydrodynamic piezoelectric internal sinus elevation (HPISE).

DR. DONG-SEOK SOHN is Professor and Chairman, Department of Dentistry
and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Medicine, Catholic University of Deagu, Republic of Korea.
He is founding president of World Academy of Ultrasonic Piezoelectric Bone Surgery. He is Past President of ICOl Asia-pacific section and founding President of ICOl Korea (Korean Society of Oral Implantologists).
He served as the congress chair of 9th Congress of ICOl Asia Pacific Section and Co congress chair of 28th ICOl World Congress (Sep. 6-9, 2011) and 2012
World Congress of Ultrasonic Piezoelectric Bone Surgery (Sep 18-20, 2012).
He has published many articles and books on implantology and ridge
and sinus augmentation.

Dr. Eric Park is currently an AEGD clinical faculty member at UCLA School of Dentistry, also Catholic University of Daegu Medical Center Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Dept. as an adjunct professor and Executive Board and faculty member of Implant Accelerator & Next Level Dentistry

Dr. Eric Park is a Diplomate World Academy of Ultrasonic Piezoelectric Bone Surgery (WAUPS), also the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOl), and a member of the Academy of Ossedintegration/AO).

He graduated from the University Of lowa, College of Dentistry where he had a degree Doctor of Dental Surgery and researched in the College of Medicine.
Dr. Park had post-graduate training at St Joseph Hospital, Jeoren Bosch Hospital and Misch International Implant institute He emphasizes foundational principle of biology, prosthetics and biomechanics that dictate the ultimate success or implant reconstruction.

The surgical aspects of medicine became a life avocation, he found his passion for Implantology in dentistry. Dr. Park is co-inventor of LISA|Lateral & internal Sinus Access] technique as new sinus approach.

He also facilitates lectures in the United States, Korea and Talwan, China, Japan, Vietnam, Colombia and is licensed to practice in California, Colorada, Nevada, and Washington State.
