Dr. Jin Y. Kim is a 1986 graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry at University of Sydney.
Upon completing a residency in periodontics at UCLA, he became board-certified by the American Board of Periodontology, and the American Board of Oral Implantology, making him a rare dual boardcertified specialist in the USA.

Dr. Kim currently holds several teaching positions at dental schools around the globe and is a frequent speaker at national and international meetings in over 51 countries worldwide to date. His research has been published in respected scientific journals and in several dental textbooks. He has served as the president of Western Society of Periodontology (WSP) in 2011. He was the scientific chair of 2016 ICOI Summer Symposium, and GDIA US Symposium.
An avid pioneer in leading technology and a self-proclaimed “digital nerd,” Dr. Kim had been an early adapter and key opinion leader for most things digital. He had been using 3D guided surgery for more than a decade and had been exploring digital CAD-CAM in his practice since 2016. During the pandemic break, he had established a digital dental laboratory within his practice and is now capable of full digital workflow.
With his dentist spouse, Dr. Connie Choi, and son, Dr. Justin Kim, the lab is currently engaged in digital smile design, from planning, and designing to milling or printing a vast array of dental prostheses and gadgets. Currently, Dr. Jin Kim is a key opinion leader and consultant for Vatech, Medit, Accuretta and SprintRay.
