KNOW YOUR TERRAIN – SINUS ANATOMY
Anatomy, as the Race Track
Just like understanding every twist and turn in a race track, knowing sinus anatomy is crucial. We’ll cover every detail of the maxillary sinus so you can navigate your surgical path with speed and accuracy for the victory!
Who’s Ready for the Ride? – Indications and Contraindications
Patient selection is like choosing the right driver and car. Some are ready for the race, and others are better in the pit lane. Here, we’ll outline what makes a patient appropriate for the race and we will find ways how to make them ready for the surgery.

02
PRE-RACE DIAGNOSTICS – PREOPERATIVE ASSESSMENT
Radiographic and Clinical Evaluation – Scouting the Route
Just like drivers need a map of the race track, surgeons need a clear view of the sinus structure. We’ll cover CBCT analysis and key anatomical landmarks to keep you in the race

03
THE TECHNIQUES PIT STOP – MASTERING SINUS AUGMENTATION
Lateral Window Approach – The Formula 1
This approach requires precision, just like a well-timed drift. We’ll break down each step to make your technique smooth and controlled.
Crestal Approach – The Drag Racing
When the situation allows for a faster approach, the crestal technique comes in handy. We’ll discuss when and how to “speed through” this technique effectively.

04
FUELING UP – GRAFTING MATERIALS AND ALTERNATIVES
Choosing the Right Fuel – Grafting Material Options
Just as drivers select the right fuel for their cars, surgeons must select the right grafting material. We’ll discuss Xenografts, Synthetic grafts, Injectable grafts, and even no grafts!

05
PRACTICE LAPS – HANDS-ON WORKSHOP
Steering Through Techniques
With practical sessions, you’ll practice navigating each step of the sinus floor elevation with hands-on models, like training laps before the big race. Day 1, we will focus on soft tissue management and lateral approach.
Handling a Spin-Out
We’ll simulate complications, allowing you to handle the surgical equivalent of a spin-out with membrane repair techniques and infection control strategies.

01
OFF-ROADING – HANDLING COMPLEX CASES
The Terrain Gets Tougher
When sinus anatomy is severely atrophic, it’s like driving off-road. We’ll cover modifications to handle the “rougher terrain” of complex sinus cases.
Sinus Floor Elevation with Implant Placement – Timing is Everything
Like perfectly timed gear shifts, the sequence of sinus lifts and implant placements is key. We’ll cover when to “accelerate” and when to hold back for best outcomes.

AVOIDING ROADBLOCKS – COMPLICATIONS AND MANAGEMENT
Identifying Hazards
Complications are like potholes in the race – knowing how to anticipate and avoid them is key. We’ll go through common “road hazards” like membrane perforation and how to stay on track.

VICTORY LAP – CASE STUDIES AND GROUP DISCUSSION
Reviewing the Big Races
Like debriefing a race, we’ll go through real-life case studies, analyzing successes and setbacks. Group discussion will help refine your skills for future “races” in the surgical field.

PROF. JC (JUNG-CHUL) PARK
DDS, BS, MSD, PhD
Prof. Park studied Periodontology at Yonsei University. He acquired a PhD from the same institute and researched on stem cells acquired from inflamed periodontal ligaments. In 2013, he won the André Schroeder Research Prize for the isolation and characterisation of alveolar bone-derived stem cells obtained during implant osteotomy. In 2014-2021, he served as Chair of Periodontology at Dankook University.
Nowadays, he focuses on his private practice at Yonsei Goodday Dental Hospital in Seoul, but he continues his path as an educator through adjunct roles at Catholic University of Korea and Dankook University.
An associate editor for the Journal of Periodontal and Implant Science and an ITI Study Club co-director, Park has delivered 100+ lectures worldwide on implant dentistry and periodontology.

THE TRUE MASTER RACER
Prof. Park, Jung-Chul was the recipient of the 18th André Schroeder Research Prize, an annual recognition presented to a dentist who has demonstrated various clinical research and activities in the field of implant dentistry.
In 2013, the International Team for Implantology (ITI) named Prof. Park of Yonsei University as the André Schroeder Research Prize winner. Along with the research team led by Prof. Kim, Chang-sung of the Department of Periodontology at Yonsei University, Park conducted a study titled “Acquisition of Human Alveolar Bone-Derived Stromal Cells Using Minimally Irrigated Implant Osteotomy: In Vitro and In Vivo Evaluation.” The team presented a paper evaluating the bone differentiation ability of periodontal stem cells obtained from bone fragments that can be extracted from within the drill during bone removal in the establishment of implants.
